What Is a Fundable Church?
A Fundable Church Is a Church Built for Sustainable Community Impact
Across the country, churches are serving their communities in meaningful ways.
They are feeding families.
Mentoring young people.
Helping individuals and families navigate difficult seasons.
The heart to serve has always been present in the church.
But many churches discover that sustaining this work over time can be challenging.
Not because the vision is unclear.
But because the structure surrounding that vision has never been intentionally built.
At The Fundable Church, we define a Fundable Church this way:
A Fundable Church is a church that has clarified its community vision, structured its programs intentionally, and built systems that allow its impact to be sustained through funding and partnerships.
Why Structure Matters
Many churches attempt to secure funding before building the structure that funding organizations expect to see.
They begin with grant writing.
But funding opportunities rarely begin there.
In most cases, funding becomes available when a church has already demonstrated:
• a clearly defined program
• measurable community impact
• appropriate organizational structure
• financial and leadership accountability
In other words:
Funding follows structure.
The Three Stages of a Fundable Church
At The Fundable Church, we guide churches through a simple but powerful framework:
Start
Every fundable church begins with clarity.
Church leaders identify the specific community issue they feel called to address and begin shaping their outreach into a defined program.
Structure
Once the vision is clear, the next step is building the right organizational container.
For some churches this may mean operating programs within the church.
For others it may involve creating a DBA or launching a Community Development Corporation (CDC).
Structure creates the credibility and accountability that funding partners look for.
Sustain
When programs are clear and structure is in place, churches can begin developing the partnerships and funding pathways that sustain their work.
This may include:
• recurring supporters
• community partnerships
• foundation grants
• government funding opportunities
At this stage, the church is no longer struggling to maintain outreach.
The work becomes sustainable.
The Role of The Fundable Church
The Fundable Church exists to help pastors and church leaders move from vision to sustainable community impact.
Through education, strategic guidance, and practical tools, we help churches build the systems that allow their outreach programs to grow and thrive.
Our goal is not simply to help churches secure funding.
Our goal is to help churches build lasting impact within their communities.
